*Just kidding, Jeremy, no vegan options available, bring your own carrot. Wake up, it's a pub.
**Just kidding, vegetables and fruit plates will be made available. Still, it's a pub. ***Gosh, don't complain. Did Jesus ask for a pillow when He was on the cross? Life is tough. ****We love you. Don't burn down the department. It's that time of year! Spring is in the air, we're all stressing out over finals, and the papers are about to hit the shit fans. So, all Religion students are invited to our Trailer Park Boys themed END OF SEMESTER PARTY! Dress as a TPB character and win a prize, win at shitty bingo and win a prize, just show up and maybe win a prize! Rules of the game: - All undergraduates receive one* free pint of Moosehead or a short glass of rum and coke. *Bring a can of ravioli (or other non perishable) to donate to a local women's shelter and receive a second free drink! **All graduate students receive one free drink for every two donations up to a maximum of two drinks = thats 4 cans of ravioli. This is a great way of having fun and helping out the community! Donations can be brought on the night of the party. Be sure to see one your CRSA execs to get your drink tickets. Remember, this is for a good cause. Food will be served at 6. The CRSA is really looking forward to getting drunk as f*ck with all of our fellow religion students. Where? McKibbin's Irish Pub: 1426 Bishop When? Wednesday, April 29th, 6:00 - 9:30 PM Why? Because we want to celebrate your success and see your beautiful faces before we disappear for the Summer. [The following issue will most likely be discussed at ASFA's upcoming Council Meeting. If you feel strongly about this issue, I encourage you to e-mail me ([email protected]) with your ideas, concerns, etc, and I will make sure that your voice is heard at this important decision-making body].
In light of recent allegations re: sexism and racism in Concordia's student life and government, the Concordia community has mobilized and created "a collective whose aim is to destroy the toxic, sexist, racist environments of many Concordia student associations." As you may be aware, a former member of the ASFA executive recently filed a complaint with the Human Rights Commission over sexist, racist comments and the "toxic environment" she encountered in the Association. Now, I'm not here to condemn the two individuals discussed in the press release (i. I am not familiar with last year's ASFA; ii. I am not fully knowledgeable of what happened; iii. I am not here to tell you what to think; iv. the media and the Concordia community have taken care of condemning them). Rather, I want to point your attention towards what their actions are representative of, and the many resources on campus that are made available to you. Now, I don't want to diminish the important work that student associations do at the departmental, faculty, and university level, since they all play a crucial role in the university's political, academic, and social life. It is important, however, to acknowledge the pervasive sexism, racism, machismo, homophobia, transphobia, or the intersection of these and other discriminations, in all institutions, including student politics and the university in general. This can be an opportunity to open up dialogue on issues that affect your community, and a learning opportunity for everyone. If you find yourself in a situation where your safety or integrity are compromised, you should know that there are resources at the university to help you and guide you. - The new page Not Safe at Concordia:https://www.facebook.com/pages/Not-Safe-At-Concordia/370830106441438?sk=info&tab=page_info - Muslim Jewish Feminist Alliance - CRSA: Concordia Religion Students' Association - The Concordia Center for Gender Advocacy: http://genderadvocacy.org/ When?
