Thank you to all those who took the time to vote. The General Elections for the 2015-2016 CRSA Executive team and Referendum will be taking place next week. These changes have been highlighted in the attached document and a printed version will be made available at the polling table. The question will be "Do you agree to the changes in the CRSA by-laws presented by the 2014-2015 CRSA executive?" We urge you to consult the document and vote "yes" as it will allow us to reorganize the structure of the executive team, have more hands on board, and consequently plan more awesome events for you. Don't forget to go vote! It will take 2 minutes of your day and will allow religion students to have social and academic events next year!

Dr. Steven Lapidus will share his ongoing research on Montreal's Hasidic community, focusing particularly on some recent challenges.
About the speaker: A scholar of Orthodox and Hasidic Judaism, Steven Lapidus received his doctorate from Concordia University where he has taught for the last several years. His dissertation, Orthodoxy in Transition: The Vaad Ha’ir of Montreal, examined the development of the Rabbinical Council of Montreal in the mid-twentieth century. A former co-curator of the Montreal Holocaust Memorial Centre, Steven has taught and published in various fields, including Canadian Jewish history and the intersection of religion and culture.
